The Upper Tiber Valley

considered a museum valley for its countless riches not only naturalistic, but also historical and architectural.

Many villages and small towns characterize this area and make it truly unique. Città di Castello (the ancient Tifernum), its most important centre, is characterized by the round bell tower of the cathedral, the medieval civic tower and a powerful sixteenth century wall.

This town shines of the ancient Renaissance and medieval architectural interventions, which are still carefully guarded today. There are also many pictorial treasures, dating back to different periods, such as Raphael’s works in the Pinacoteca Comunale and all the installations that contemporary Alberto Burri gifted to his hometown.
